Behind the Build

Our Land
A Foundation for Hope

At My Mother’s Arms, the land is more than a location—it’s the foundation for transformation. Our property, located in the peaceful landscapes of Apache County, Arizona, spans over 35 acres of natural beauty. This serene setting offers a safe, quiet space for healing and growth, surrounded by open skies and the stillness of the desert.

Our site was carefully selected to provide both security and connection to nature. Its remote setting ensures privacy for residents, while its size allows for the creation of a welcoming home, outdoor activity areas, gardens, and future expansion.

First Floor

At My Mother’s Arms, the first floor has been designed with both functionality and comfort in mind, creating a warm, secure environment for residents. Every room supports our mission of providing safety, dignity, and community.

The Great Room serves as the heart of the home—a spacious, light-filled area perfect for gathering, relaxing, and connecting. Whether it’s sharing stories, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying a moment of peace, this is where community thrives.

The Open Kitchen is designed for shared meals and conversation. With generous counter space and modern appliances, residents can cook together, learn new recipes, and enjoy the therapeutic comfort of preparing food as a family.

The circular/octagonal layout of the building ensures that every room is connected while still maintaining privacy and quiet. Natural light and open sightlines encourage both safety and a sense of togetherness.

At My Mother’s Arms, every wall, doorway, and room has been carefully planned to support the well-being, safety, and growth of those we serve. The first floor sets the tone—a space of comfort, community, and compassion.

Second Floor

The second floor of My Mother’s Arms offers 1,276 square feet of thoughtfully designed living space, arranged in a unique octagonal layout that balances community connection with individual privacy. This distinctive design maximizes natural light, ensures safety, and makes every square foot purposeful.

At the heart of the second floor lies an open central area with a vaulted ceiling that visually links both levels of the home. This architectural feature creates a sense of openness, belonging, and shared purpose, allowing residents upstairs to feel connected to the life and activity below.

Surrounding the central space, each bedroom has been strategically placed to offer:

  • Privacy for rest and reflection

  • Natural light for comfort and well-being

  • Close access to shared amenities

This upper-level sanctuary not only provides safe, restful spaces for residents but also fosters the community spirit that defines My Mother’s Arms.
